Hi! Glad you stopped by. We're on a mission to raise money to help find a cure for a cancer and we're asking for your support. 

In September this year, we will climb Mt Kilimanjaro in Africa and, on the way, raise funds to help find a cure for cancer.  We're really looking forward to this challenge & we're really happy that we're doing this together.

Cancer has touched our lives.  While we can't change or fix this for our loved ones, we can focus our energy, grief and fears on a good cause that we hope will make a difference to their lives. 

How you can help:

Despite her better instincts, Fiona is going to shave her head….in June in Canberra…but she isn’t going to do it on the cheap. Your challenge is to help us raise $3000 before 11:59pm on the 31^st of May 2012. Fiona's head will be shaved by Boyd and the team from Shi Hairdressing in Kingston at The Climb for a Cure Chairty Dinner on the 2nd of June (click here for more info).

Most of us are lucky, we get to choose when and how we lose our hair (unless we're going bald naturally), but people enduring chemotherapy don’t. If, like us, you’d like to do something to help “Kick cancer’s butt”, please share our fundraising page as far and wide as you can. If you’d like to join us in shaving your head during winter, drop us a line and we’ll help you set up your own fundraising page. ALL of the money raised will go directly to cancer research.

What we’ll do for you:

We've chosen cancer research because it's personal but the Climb for a Cure: Africa Challenge isn't just about us and what we want to do is make it about those people who you are donating in support, memoriam, or honour of.  With their fight, challenge, victory, and tragic loss in mind, we will take them with us to the summit of Mt Kilimanjaro:

• $50 Donation - we will put their name and your name on our banner that we'll take to the top of Mt Kilimanjaro.  It will read: "We're climbing for: ______"
• $100 Donation - we will send you their name on a photo of us at the summit with an inscription that will read: "We climbed for:______"

A little more on Cure Cancer:

Cure Cancer provides one year grants of $90,000 each to the best young researchers with fresh approaches across all areas of cancer research.  $50 funds one hour, $1,900 funds one week, $7,500 funds one month and $100,000 funds one year of vital cancer research. Without research there can be no cure for this devastating disease.
